Senior Financial Accountant in Spain (m/f/d)
What can you expect?
- You independently handle all ongoing accounting operations for the Spanish subsidiary, including accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting, as well as bank, cash, credit card, and travel expense postings in compliance with Spanish GAAP
- You coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Spanish subsidiary in line with local accounting standards
- You act as the central point of contact between the headquarters and the Spanish subsidiary, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with the management team in Spain and external stakeholders
- You collaborate closely with local tax advisors and the internal tax team to ensure compliance with Spanish tax regulations, including VAT filings and statutory reporting
- You oversee all financial processes for the Spanish subsidiary, including coordination with external partners such as Big4 tax advisors, payroll providers, and auditors
- You support the Spanish management team as a strategic finance business partner by providing insightful analyses, reports, and actionable recommendations for decision-making, manage payment processes, ensure compliance with local legal and tax requirements, and handle account reconciliations and intercompany transactions
- You improve existing financial processes, integrate the Spanish subsidiary into the global finance structure, and contribute to the digitalization and automation of workflows
- You take part in special projects, such as implementing a new ERP system or transfer pricing

What should you bring along?
- You have a degree in Business Administration with a focus on accounting or a comparable qualification (e.g., certified accountant or international equivalent)
- You have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in an international environment, with proven expertise in managing the full scope of accounting and financial processes for a subsidiary and proficiency in preparing year-end financial statements under Spanish GAAP
- You possess an in-depth understanding of Spanish accounting and tax regulations; additional knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP (including SOX compliance) is advantageous
- You have experience in digitalizing and standardizing accounting processes, with knowledge of ERP systems (Datev/SAP/Netsuite)
- You are fluent in Spanish and English, with German skills being a strong advantage, to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

What do I have to consider if I am not from Germany?
